Pamper Yourself! Your Body Will Truly Appreciate You..

Pamper Yourself - Your Body Will Truly Appreciate You...
Pamper yourself, read light novels and magazines, turn your face to the sun, walk in nature, listen to music, get a massage, sit by a crackling fire, gaze at an aquarium, snuggle with your partner/child/pet/mom... the list is endless.
Explore yourself and discover what you love and what makes you feel restored and 'full'. Learn what makes you tick. Don't be afraid to try whatever you think you might like. Learn how to pamper yourself. By adulthood we are often so out of touch with what we like and want and have spent much of our lives trying to do what we perceive others want us to do. Or we have children... Make believe that your are one of your children - or your wife - and pamper yourself!
It is so important to put back a little of what circumstances - and possibly the very treatment that helped you - has taken out. The aim here is to rebuild you and this is a very important part.
In between all of the busy activities, chores and work of the day, add in little 'treats' for yourself. Pay attention to taking really good care of yourself so that you can increase your physical activity a little every day.
There will be times when even getting out of bed for a few minutes causes your breathing to be heavy and your pulse to race - a perfect time to lie down and close your eyes for a few minutes and listen to your favourite relaxing music. Half way through a walk on the beach - listening to the gulls cry, the waves rolling over the sand, smelling the ozone and generally having a wonderful and physically energetic time - stop for a moment, face the sun and close your eyes. Get in the habit of giving yourself a treat regularly during the day - even a chocolate one now and then! Deliberately 'baby' yourself and try and make up for all the abuse your body and psyche has had to take.
Schedule two or three hours for a steaming bubble bath - especially if you are a guy! Seriously, in our culture we expect guys to be tough and we - and they - can so easily overlook their need for tenderness. Make sure that everyone in the house knows that you intend to use all the hot water and that no-one is going to want a shower while you're bathing. Set the scene (your bathroom) with scented candles for 'quiet' light (I like to read in the bath so I need a bright light), bath salts, oil or bubbles, the radio if you want music, a book if you want to read, a cup of tea if that's what you fancy, some chocolate... You get the picure! Spoil yourself... Prepare everything you may need in advance, including a warm fluffy towel for when you get out, a warm bedroom and cosy pyjamas. Or a cool bedroom and a sexy, silk negligee! It is SO important to cater to exactly what it is that YOU want...
Massage therapists will often come to the house and bring their oils and special tables with them. This can be a wonderful way to put back into our bodies some of what life has taken out.
Treat yourself to a foot massage or a pedicure or a manicure; a haircut, some new clothes or a new book; a fresh fruit smoothie, dish of ice-cream or chocolate treats.
Love yourself and let other people love you...
Take care of your own body and soul in order that you become strong enough again to take care of others. As the steward demonstrating the emergency services on board the aeroplane says "In the case of a drop in cabin pressure (trauma!), make sure you put on your own oxygen mask first so that you may then help others".
